Message from the Faculty Dean

Welcome to the Makerere University Business School, Faculty of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management!
I am delighted that you have chosen to become part of our fraternity, whether as a student, faculty or staff member, or a partner in our activities at the Business School. It is apparent that one of the first things you will discover is that all of us here share the mission of improving education and the value we would like to leverage on. We are aware that the opportunities that result from a great university education and experience is critical to fostering thriving individuals and societies as well as addressing pertinent challenges in Uganda, the region and globally.

First and foremost, I would like to extend a warm welcome to our returning students and extend a heartfelt greeting to all our new students joining us this year. We are excited to have you as part of our vibrant academic community, and we look forward to supporting your growth and learning throughout your time with us.

The past year has presented numerous challenges, and I want to express my sincere appreciation for the resilience and adaptability demonstrated by our faculty, staff, and students. Despite the obstacles, we continued to push the boundaries of knowledge, innovate, and make valuable contributions to the field of computing. I am confident that this year will bring even more opportunities for collaboration, research, and success.

I would like to highlight some key initiatives and goals for the upcoming year:

Enhanced Learning Experience: We are committed to providing the best possible learning experience for our students. This includes expanding our online resources, modernizing our curriculum, and fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Research and Innovation: Our faculty members are at the forefront of cutting-edge research in various computing disciplines. We will continue to support and promote their efforts to advance knowledge and address real-world challenges.

Community Engagement: Engaging with our local and global communities is a priority. We will continue to strengthen our partnerships with industry, government agencies, and non-profit organizations to create opportunities for our students and faculty to make a meaningful impact.

Diversity and Inclusion: We are dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive community where all voices are heard and valued. We will work to create an environment where everyone feels respected, included, and empowered to succeed.

Health and Safety: We remain vigilant in our efforts to ensure the health and safety of our community members. We will continue to follow public health guidelines and take all necessary precautions to protect our campus.

I encourage each of you to actively participate in the life of our faculty. Your ideas, enthusiasm, and contributions are essential to our continued success.
